Unlocking the bootloader reboots into TWRP.

I’m attempting to push a different version of TWRP onto my device (OnePlus X). Once I push through the oem unlock command it’s successful, but it reboots directly into TWRP and doesn’t seem to actually work. If I continue to boot into system from TWRP it takes me to where I left off, no reset. If I reboot into bootloader from TWRP, I’m told the device is locked so I can’t push a new recovery. From here on it repeats > oem unlock > twrp.

Any advice?
