G3 has twrp but not rooted??

Hi all, there are a few apps that I want to install on my phone but requires the phone to be rooted. I tried to root it but the phone itself tells me that it is rooted.
However, when I install apps that requires phone to be "rooted" indicates that the phone hasn’t been rooted.
How do i re root this phone? it seems that its not working when I use stump or purple drake. Thanks guys.
