Flashing TWRP through fastboot on a bootloader locked phone.

I know this might have been asked so many times but my question is slightly different.

I am using a Moto X xt1060 with read only root and a locked bootloader (Build details are in the screenshot). Since my root access is write-protected, I am unable to install any recovery or to do any other changes to the system when booted in ROM.

I wanted to flash a twrp rom in fastboot mode but I am constantly getting a "variable not supported" max download size of 85097897bytes error cannot load twrp.img.

While researching for this on internet I found this reply on many threads including some thread here too (Unfortunately I couldn’t remember which thread it was!) The solution proposed was :

"You should be able to catch the phone during its initial reboot process and get it into recovery before the main OS launches. Then you should be able to flash super user while there. "

My question is how can I so quickly bypass main OS bootup right after flashing the recovery when I don’t even know if it was flashed properly?
