i AM UNABLE TO GET INTO THE DEVICE BUT I AM ABLE TO USE FASTBOOT USB. AND RECOVERY THRU TWRP. i WOULD RATHER REFLASH CWMR AS THAT HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE GOTO FOR RECOVERIES, NOT TOO SURE ABOUT TWRP. i WOULD REALLY LIKE A STEP BY STEP TO AT THE VERY LEAST GET MY STOCK ROM BACK UP AND RUNNING, THOUGH EVEN BETTER IF I COULD USE A 4.4. ROM. THE DEVICE WAS ROOTED BEFORE I FUDGED UP. i WOULD HAVE BACKED UP MY EXISTING ROM BUT HAD NOT ENOUGH SPACE. YA LIVE AND YA LEARN. WAS TOLD SOMEWHERE TO FLASH ROM THRU FASTBOOT BUT NOT ENTIRELY SURE HOW THAT WORKS. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT. THIS IS MY ONLY DEVICE AT THE MOMENT AND NEEDING ABIT OF GUIDANCE. THANKS GUYS AND GALS

Hey out there,

can someone guide me to a way to update my rooted and twrp’d n9wifi to mob30d without loosing data? I was searching for a zip that can be flashed from twrp but no success until now. Normally i use custom roms so im familiar with this but not with stock roms.

Hello, I have just got a new ZE601KL and have tried to install TWRP. I can upload it successfully but when I reboot it disappears.

I have tried to reboot into recovery, by holding VOL DOWN but that goes into an infinite reboot cycle.

Can someone please explain to me how I can install TWRP?

Many thanks

I xan’t seem to find a working twrp for my phone on MM. Everything I have seen and everything I have searched keeps driving my down a dead end road. If someone has a working twrp for the MM bootloader please let me know where you have obtained it. I only wish to flash confirmed working ones but I have been flashing different ones that say they are supported but do not boot on my phone. Thank you for your time everyone.

Hello,

I am trying to flash Dirty Unicorns on my Nexus 6, but I wanted to create a back up of my current Cataclysm ROM. I have ran a successful back up and restore a month ago, but today I get the infamous error 255.
Here is the error that I think is causing the problem:

Code:

Delete Boatware and system apps with TitaniumBackup and TWRP

$

Hello guys!

Here is an instruction how you delete system apps and Bloatware in any Android version with TitaniumBackup (TB) and TWRP! 😀

Like usual, I’m not responsible for any damage of your phone.

I use the Pro Version of TitaniumBackup because you have better capabilities and the following guide is written for all who have the Pro Version:

1. Check if you’re rooted and you have a working TWRP recovery. If not, in the other threads it’s written how you can do this.
2. Install TitaniumBackup from Play Store and the Pro Version of this app.
3. The best way to do a backup in TB is on the external SD card. If you use Lollipop or Marschmallow you have to grant TB the option to use the external SD. The Guide is below.
4. Make a backup of all apps on your phone in TB.
5. Reboot your phone to TWRP and make a complete backup of your phone in TWRP.
6. Reboot to system.
7. Open TB and then delete the apps which you don’t need. Attention: Don’t delete system apps which the phone needs for correct running!
8. Reboot immediately to TWRP. Click mount and then tick system.
9. Reboot to system.

Guide for granting write access in Android 5 or 6:
Cklick on Menu then Preferences and then Backup folder location. A new window will appear where you have to change the backup folder. Click on (click to change). Click on DocumentProvider storage and choose your external SD. Click on << Create a new folder >> and type in the new folder name for your Backup.

That’s it! If I helped you please press Thanks! :)

Can’t get to TWRP

My Moto E is from boost sold by Bestbuy.

Unlocked the bootloader last night following the sticky post without any issue. One more thing I did is just removing the unlocked bootloader message per the faq.

This morning, I tried to root following this post. I was stuck at step 7.
After I run "fastboot boot recovery-twrp.img", command line shows successful, Moto E rebooted but was stuck at the blue "M" log.

I did a hard restart and re-entered the fastboost mode, tried to run "fastboot flash recovery recovery-twrp.img", command line didn’t say anyting wrong but the phone did nothing.

Tried the recommendation few lines below by flash the cwm recovery, nothing happened either.

The phone is still functioning but I just can’t root it without a customer recovery. Could somebody help?

Thanks~~~

Trying to install twrp to T-mobile version

Hello All,
I am trying to get Xtrestolite 3.1 on my phone and I cannot get through the TWRP process. I installed the custom bootloader and modem for my phone but when I installed TWRP, and try to go to recovery, I get a no command error and the normal recovery shows up. Everything on odin says that it is fine when flashing but i still do not have TWRP.

Any ideas?

Keyboard Lag TWRP

$

Hello,
I was wondering if there’s some way to fix the extreme lags when using the TWRP keyboard. There is usually about a second or two delay between touching the key and it actually typing. This frustratingly leads to many incorrect unlock attempts, as it will sometimes skip characters if I type too fast. It also fails to vibrate on certain keypresses intermittently, as if the key wasn’t pressed at all. I have noticed this on TWRP 2.x and 3.x. I swore I read before about some hack to optimise TWRP to make it more responsive, but I am unable to relocate where that was.
Thank you for your time!

Device Tree / files

App Install Method (Requires Root):
Download the TWRP Manager app:
Play Store
No Play Store? Find a direct download link at the bottom of this page.
Install the app and open it.  Tap on Install TWRP. Select your device from the device list (ham) and then tap on Install Recovery. The file will download and be installed automatically.

Download Links:
Current and past versions of TWRP can be found at one of the mirrors below:
Primary (Recommended)

TWRP Install (Requires TWRP 2.8.4 or higher already installed):
Download the latest TWRP image file (.img) from the download link and boot TWRP. Go to install and find and select the Images... button. Browse to the image that you downloaded and select it. Choose recovery and swipe to flash.

Fastboot Install Method (No Root Required):
You will need the platform-tools from the Android SDK on your computer. Find the SDK Only section on the page linked and install the SDK and download only the platform-tools to get adb and fastboot binaries.

Windows users will need proper drivers installed on your computer. You can try the Naked ADB drivers or the Universal ADB drivers if you don't already have a working driver installed

On your device, go into Settings -> About and find the Build Number and tap on it 7 times to enable developer settings. Press back and go into Developer Options and enable USB debugging. From your computer, open a command prompt and type:

adb reboot bootloader

You should now be in fastboot mode. Download the correct image file and copy the file into the same folder as your adb and fastboot binaries. Rename the image to twrp.img and type:

fastboot flash recovery twrp.img

fastboot reboot

Note many devices will replace your custom recovery automatically during first boot. To prevent this, use Google to find the proper key combo to enter recovery. After typing fastboot reboot, hold the key combo and boot to TWRP. Once TWRP is booted, TWRP will patch the stock ROM to prevent the stock ROM from replacing TWRP. If you don't follow this step, you will have to repeat the install.

TWRP 3.0.2 for togari

TWRP isn’t an official build for our device, but we can take it as z1 reference. I have to compile TWRP touch recovery from source. I use cm12.1 source code and with F2FS support.

Download Links:
http://goo.gl/qCiTOA

What’s new in 3.0.2:

  • Fix a bug with the input box that affected masked inputs (passwords). This fixes decrypt of full device encryption on devices that support decrypt. This bug also impacts encrypted backups. Users are highly encouraged to stop using 3.0.1 if you use encrypted backups or if you need decrypt of data in TWRP.
  • Add Greek translation to some builds.

TWRP Install:

PHP Code:

fastboot flash FOTAKernel togari-twrp-3.0.2.img

If you have new bootloader for open devices(with real recovery partition)

PHP Code:

fastboot flash recovery togari-twrp-3.0.2.img

unlock, TWRP, etc from OSX MacBook Air?

$

somehow I managed to install the OTA MM update that I was holding off until I could unlock, root, blah, blah, blah.
I’m now on 20i.
And it responds to adb (v1.032) and fastboot commands from Terminal on my OSX MacBook Air.
Has anyone "authorized" (aka – fastboot oem unlock) their 811 and flashed TWRP from a Mavs Mac ?
Or do I need to go to my Bootcamp partition to accomplish?
Seems like to should work from Mavs direct, but …….
