TWRP and 6.0.1 issue??
H815: No recovery mode (bootloader unlocked, TWRP 3.0.1 installed)
I’m trying to root my G4 loaded with MM 6.0. I cannot get into Recovery Mode no matter what I do.
I have tried the key combo (power+down, etc) – it does nothing. If I use adb reboot recovery, I just get the dead Android guy with the exclamation in red triangle. (which is perhaps a hint as to why the key combo doesn’t work.)
I followed steps to unlock the phone’s bootloader via LG’s dev site (success) and I’ve installed TWRP 3.0.2-0-H815.img but I can’t get into Recovery mode. **The phone continues to work fine** and I can get it into Download Mode.
After having no success with TWRP, I thought, f*ck it, since I’ve gone this far, let’s go with CyanogenMod instead of stock, so I installed cm-13.0-20160415-NIGHTLY-h815-recovery.img
I was also able to use adb to push CM 13 (nightly build 20160415) and Gapps (arm 6.0 20160416) successfully to phone, but it’s obviously no use since I can’t get to Recovery Mode.
I’m wondering if someone can please suggest a solution or at least a next step.
When I use fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.0.2-0-h815.img it takes 0.718s ‘send recovery’ and 0.282s ‘writing recovery’.
New problem: After going back to TWRP, fastboot devices shows nothing and my device is showing up in Device Manager as LGE Mobile USB Composite Device, whereas I specifically changed it from the LG drivers I installed to Android ADB drivers. The device doesn’t even list the Android ADB driver as an available option now. WTAF?!? Maybe this is more Win10 driver-auto-update malarkey?
OS = Win10x64
Kernal = 3.10.84
Build number = MRA58K
Software version = V20d-EUR-XX
Developer options are available
USB debug is enabled
OEM unlock is enabled
I’m using the stock USB cable
Additional question 1 – should I be using Gapps arm or arm64 on LG G4 H815?
Additional question 2 – tutorials say to back up NVRAM and IMEI before doing anything risky, but I can’t get those without root. How does this make sense?
Thank you very much to everyone who stops in to take a look at my questions.
All the best,
Dax.

Unable to mount /Data and unable to factory reset in TWRP on Nextbook ares 8
The tablet comes with the bootloader unlocked, and I have rooted the tablet and installed SuperSU and twrp. and all works well but with 1 major problem.
When booted into recovery [In this case I have twrp v2.8.6.0 installed] I am unable to mount /data
I also tried factory resetting the device from inside the android itself, after you confirm the reset the device just restarts and boots back up with all of its data. I tried factory resting in twrp and I was left with the "unable to mount /data" error.
This is my new account and I do not have enough posts to post a picture example.
I really need help with this,
thanks!
differences twrp 2.8.5.0 and twrp 3.0.2.0?
i dont know if there are a twrp 3.0.2.0 .zip to flash thru recovery?

Upgrading rooted device without TWRP
Flashable TWRP
Cannot restore in Twrp
Now when I try to restore I get errors and cannot restore
First I get this:
E: unable to locate partition by backup name efs1
E: unable to locate partition by backup name efs2
And then I get this:
E: Cannot restore System — mounted read only.
Any idea how to fix this. I really like to restore to Stock ROM
[ROOT] [TWRP] on Xiaomi MI 4i without using PC
NOTE: This will only work on MIUI Chinese Developer ROM. Make sure you have installed it OR get MIUI 7 Chinese devloper ROM from here .
This Root allows you to explore system apps and even modify them to your specific need. This will help you to get ported features by developers on your phone and even give you the opportunity to modify yourself. Running low on space? You can delete unnecessary system apps and gather up some useful space all with rooting your phone. This could be useful for budget Android phones that dont come with a lot of internal storage.
Step by Step Instructions :
Step 1 : First of all you need to download and install an App from Google Play Store which is popularly known as Flashify. (Get it from here!)
NOTE: Give Root access to Flashify App using default Security App on MIUI 6/7 ROM.
Step 2 : Download TWRP and SuperSU Zip file in your mobile from here :
Step 3 : Extract the TWRP 2.8.7.0 zip file in your mobile using file manager like ES File Manager.
NOTE: Do not extract SuperSu Zip. (It is Flashable)
Step 4 : Now Open Flashify App that you have downloaded in Step 1
Step 5 : Select Flash Image file and Choose twrp-2.8.7.0-ferrari.img file and Flash it. Now Reboot your device and you are almost done.
Step 6 : Switch off your device again and press Volume Down + Power Button simultaneously. Now you will be in TWRP Recovery Mode.
Step 7 : Tab on Install and navigate to SuperSU Zip file. Just flash it by swiping below and you are now completely done. Just Reboot your device.
Thats it! Your Xiaomi MI 4i is now rooted on Android 5.0.2 official software. Check the SuperSU app in your MIUI home. Also, verify with Root Checker App to confirm.
Tried flashing TWRP stuck at “recovery is not SEandroid enforcing”
Now when I try installing the custom recovery it just stays at the screen. I can boot normally & into download mode. But it won’t boot into recovery mode. I downloaded the latest version for my phone model and it still doesn’t seem to work. Any ideas?
Also, what is SEandroid?
And another question off topic. I usually use textdroider to change my dpi on my previous phones but it doesn’t seem to work for my s6. Any ideas?
need help with twrp please
