[ROOT] Root/Install TWRP Sony Xperia M4 Aqua E2303 LB on 26.1.A.2.167/26.1.A.3.92
Before we begin:
Make sure you have the following:
A Windows PC
Flashtool (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_d…w?pref=2&pli=1)
The .128 firmware (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzV…Slk/view?pli=1)
Patience
A good internet connection
15 to 20 minutes
The M4 Aqua Root Toolkit (https://www.dropbox.com/s/edse0h6b02…E23xx.zip?dl=0)
ADB Drivers (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0M…w?pref=2&pli=1)
TWRP Toolkit (https://www.dropbox.com/s/yomdwq3p2l…aller.zip?dl=0)
How are we going to do it:
The procedure is pretty straight forward, as the M4 Aqua is only on Android 5.0 we can take the kernel of the older versions of firmwares so we could root the device, while keeping the firmware version to the newest release (2.167/3.92). The method has been only tried on the E2303, there may be chances of it working for the E2306.
Let’s begin! Part 1, Changing the Kernel:
First, we need to install the latest Flashtool version (link above), after you proceed with the installation of Flashtool, you need to install the Flashtool drivers, which can be found in C:/Flashtool/drivers or the path you selected flashtool to be installed. Once you open Flashtool drivers you want to select FLASHMODE DRIVERS, this is only so that the M4 will be recognised while in flashmode. After the drivers have been installed, you want to move the downloaded .128 firmware to C:/Users/*YourName*/.flashtool/firmwares or you can use the other method I will show later. Once you have done that you want to open Flashtool and wait for the Sync to finish. After that has finished, you will see a lighting icon in the top-left corner, you want to press the icon and select flashmode, now the second method, at the top you will see a path leading to the generic .tft folder in which Flashtool belives the .ftf files are located by default. You can change that by pressing the button on the right and lead the program to the path of the .128 ftf file. After you have selected your .tft file you will see on the right a lot of options *everything that the .ftf file contains*, if you want to keep the data on your device you can tick the first two options, a bit down on the right you will see a lot of options, including system.bin, you want to tick everything EXCEPT for the kernel.sin, this is the most crucial part. After that is done you want to let the program prepare the files, mean while you want to power off your M4 Aqua, after the process on Flashtool is done you want to press the VOLUME DOWN button while connecting the phone to the PC, once you see the green led light you can leave the button, if everything was done right the process of flashing should begin. If everything went well the kernel should be flashed and the phone should safely power on. Now we can proceed to the second part. Rooting the phone.
Part 2, Rooting the phone:
Now that we have changed the kernel we can use the root toolkit to root the device. Download the root toolkit from the link above, but before you do anything you want to go to Settings>About Phone, scroll down to Build number and press it 7 times, after that is done you want to go back to Developer options, and you want to tick USB Debugging, after you have done that you need to install the ADB Drivers from the link above, after that is done you can connect the phone to the computer, now you want to extract the toolkit and run install.bat *No administrator rights needed*, and then you should see a screen on your phone asking if you want to trust the computer, you want to tick the box saying always and you want to press yes, now the rooting process should begin and your phone to be rooted. After this is done we can proceed to the part 3, installing TWRP
Part 3,Installing TWRP:
Now, that we have root we can install TWRP using another toolkit. This part is optional but if you want any custom ROM’s you need this. This part is the easiest, you need to download the toolkit from the link above and just run the script. We don’t need any additional steps as we did them in Part 2.
If everything went well you should now be rooted and have TWRP with a locked bootloader and on the newest firmware.
In case of bricking you can use the Sony PC Companion tool and repair my phone/ tablet option. YOU WILL LOSE ANY DATA SAVED ON YOUR PHONE.

Stuck on “Entering Recovery…” after trying to update TWRP version

TWRP manager
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Note 3 Twrp 2.8.7.0 & 3.0 will not restore modem
Even if I try restoring it individually, it never seems to finish (or does it normally take a long time?). The restore gets stuck at 98%, and when flashing individually, never progresses.
Any solution or should I always just restore everything and flash the modem separately
need help Nexus 6 i wiped everything by mistake stuck on twrp recovery
my buddy is into rooting androids and doing all kinds of stuff to them. i bought a nexus 6 and he rooted it added cyanogenmod and twrp recovery.
I soon upgraded my phone and let my cousin use my nexus 6 cause he lost his phone.
when he gave it back I wanted to erase everything and sign back in to my account so i went into twrp recovery and by accident instead of factory reset i formatted the phone which erased everything. so now it doesn’t have anything in the internal storage of the phone.
it is now stuck on twrp if i boot it all i see is the google startup screen and it stays there.

Trying to Install OTA Update with TWRP installed (ADB Sideload)
today I received the OTA file for Android 6.0.
First thing I did to the mobile phone (when I got it 3+ months ago) was installing TWRP and rooting it.
So far so good… I tried to install OTA via TWRP ADB Sideload feature. (Knowing normal Installation wouldn’t work)
As long as I don’t start ‘ADB Sideload’ in TWRP, I get the device listed with ‘adb devices’
As soon as I start ADB Sideload, the devices doesn’t appear in the command prompt anymore.
When I cancel ADB Sideload the device gets listed again.
Any guesses what I am doing wrong? Haven’t found similar problems.
Huawei Honor 7, Bricked after B180. TWRP
They advised to unroot the phone first, but I have been stupid and updated with TWRP installed on the second recovery partition (e-recovery?) and the update failed.
My phone now won’t boot. I can put it in fastboot/recovery mode and access TWRP, so I guess all I need is a stock ROM.
I cannot find anything useful for Honor 7 with Google, I would like a recent ROM (most recent I found is a B130).
I would also appreciate some advice on how to recover from this boot freeze.
Would flashing a stock ROM with TWRP be enough?
Thank you very much.
I’m kinda pissed since that phone is quite expensive.
[Q] benefits of twrp for the galaxy s5? And one other question.
Which goes with my second question, does it make Roms flash better? (I read the updates but does not answer my question)
Because before I used to be able to flash custom Roms like blisspop and Roms like that, but some time after I would try roms that weren’t stock and would forever be stuck on bootloop.
After a certain point only stock roms would seem to flash and actually boot up.
So I was curious if this would fix that issue to where i can flash non-stock custom roms again.

Unofficial TWRP MAGURO 3.0.0-0
TWRP is an open source, community project. TWRP development is done by roughly 4 people at this point. We also have a large support community with many people who are willing to answer questions and help people with their devices either through our IRC channel or on forums like xda-developers.
Team Win was originally formed to work on porting WiMAX to CM7 for the HTC EVO 4G. After our work on the EVO 4G we wanted to work on a project that would work on more devices than just the EVO 4G and we settled on working on a recovery. Today TWRP is the leading custom recovery for Android phones.
A custom recovery is used for installing custom software on your device. This custom software can include smaller modifications like rooting your device or even replacing the firmware of the device with a completely custom ROM like OmniROM
You can find the source code for TWRP at github.com/omnirom/android_bootable_recovery/

Request – Could Someone Help Me Modify TWRP for my device?
The only issue in v2.8.2.0 is that the CPU temperature indicator only shows 0 C.
On the other hand, the 2.8.7.0 version’s language is Russian and I cannot change it (builder is probably Russian). /system only shows the bin folder, the other files are not there, even if the system partition is mounted. Also, the splash screen is changed.
Could someone help me so that the language can be changed to English, revert the splash screen, and make the system partition accessible? Thank you so much!

Help, MMB29Q update wipes TWRP
Recently I updated my Nexus 5 from Lollipop to Marshmallow 6.0.1 (MMB29Q) – latest build.
everything stock works fine but, once I flash a customer recovery, in my case TWRP it stops working…I get either a startup loop or TWRP gets erased by stock recovery.
I tried various steps …
flashed TWRP 2.8.7.1 – rebooted to boot loader was able to get into TWRP but, once I reboot system, everything works but TWRP is gone/erased and replaced by stock recovery?
Flash TWRP 2.8.7.1, then flash latest TWRP 3.0, reboot to boot loader and can get into TWRP but once i reboot into system, I am stuck on the initial boot loop.
I have to start from scratch of flashing system and boot etc to get past the loop and it still replaces TWRP with stock recovery.
I can always get into Fastboot but when I go to recovery it seems its being replaced by stock recovery.
anyone experiencing this issue? thanks for your help.
D851 Wont Boot into TWRP or Into Android after flashing Fulmics D855 ROM
When i selected Fulmic’s zip, it asked me to select my device but i noticed there was no D851, but there was the at&t version, Verizon version, D855 etc… So i selected the D855 as i taught somehow the D855 and the D851 were somewhat similar and that it would run on my D851, (yea… i now know it was such a stupid assumption i made). So i flashed the D855 onto my D851 and once it was done, i hit the reboot button and the device went off and never came on. I tried booting into TWRP but nothing worked, then i took out the battery and pressed vol up and inserted the USB and it showed me an empty battery sign with a yellow triangle on the lower right side of the empty battery.
When i connect the device to Windows, it shows up as LGE AndroidNet USB Serial Port.
I am pretty lost here, i dont know what to do right now. I have been reading lots of threads but i havent found any thread that explains how to deal with such a situation.
Any Help is appreciated.
Regards Mickey.
