TWRP Nandroid Restore problem

Hi all,

I have a KLTE Galaxy S5 G900i.

I successfully upgraded it to MM, rooted and installed TWRP 3.0.2.2 test2.

Prior to doing this, I made a nandroid backup of the previous Lollipop OS using TWRP 3.0.0.0.

I need to restore this backup temporarily, but when I do, it bootloops.

Do I need to Odin Flash TWRP 3.0.0.0 before restoring the nandroid backup? Do I need to wipe/format any partitions?

Thanks,

Donald.

samsung galaxy s5 stuck at twrp logo , flashing every 5 seconds

ok so I have rooted my samsung galaxy s5 for a while now , It was working fine until today when I flashed the rom for android 6.0 from android 5.1 , when it went downhill . The keyboard won’t work , which means I cannot do anything on the phone . I tried to go to my storage with my computer , it shows "samsung galaxy s5" but then when I click it , it indicates that the file is empty. I then proceeded to factory reset my phone in settings , which brought me to the recovery screen. However , when it boots up into my recovery(TWRP) , it just stucks at the TWRP logo screen which means that I don’t get the options , which also means I cannot do anything . the TWRP logo just flashes every 5 seconds or so. I tried to remove the battery to boot back up normally but jesus good lord , it just goes back to recovery mode on its own . This naturally means that my computer will not be able to recognize my device which means I won’t be able to do anything on the computer to help my phone . Someone please help me , thanks alot !! :(

Updated TWRP 2.8.7 to TWRP 3.0.2 and lost ability to boot into TWRP

Hello,

I recently used the flash image portion of TWRP 2.8.7.? to update to TWRP 3.0.2 for my jfltevzw I545VRUAMDK phone. After reboot, it wouldn’t go into recovery saying "SECURE BOOT: KERNEL" in the upper left and a warning about “System software not authorized by Verizon Wireless has been found on your phone.”

I’ve tried DD’n new supposedly loki’d recoveries directly, with no luck.

Also tried TWRP Manager and ROM Manager.

Also flashed back a copy of 2.8.7 via ODIN.

Any ideas how I can get this unlocked and booting back into TWRP?

TWRP 3.0.2.0 issues

I don’t know if it’s just not booting into recovery or it’s not flashing correctly, but I can’t get this to work. I flashed it both in TWRP and in bootloader, and it won’t boot into TWRP. Keeps going right to the OS. This sucks because I no longer have a working recovery. I don’t get it. This one is on Marshmallow, my other one on KitKat took it and boots into it.

Tried installing TWRP and SuperSU on LG G4 H815 was running V20d firmware.

So I followed all the right steps to getting the bootloader unlocked, installing TWRP as the custom recovery and installing SuperSU root. Now I’m stuck in a bootloop with no way to access the bootloader from ADB… Hardware access to the bootloader doesn’t work. I get the bootloader unlocked notification but then it goes straight into boot. Windows recognises that there’s a device there but I can’t access the files and see it in adb… Feeling very lost with this :(

HI,

I have the MOTO G TURBO EDITION, XT1557 in India.

If i unlock the bootloader, can i use fastboot to boot a TWRP recovery and take a backup
of the entire rom ??? This should be before i flash SUPERSU.

That way will i get an UNROOTED STOCK ROM ??

Is this possible or do you have to flash supersu and then only take a backup ??

Any thoughts please??

thanks
Greg

Galaxy S4 SPH-L720T -> twrp, root, customrom and kernel(few questions!)

Heyo, lets get started ruining this device even more! See if we can’t brick it ey?

Anyways first off the battery is draining like a madman, 1% every 30 seconds or so. The thing is not getting the performance in games that it should be, using other devices with lower end hardware as a reference(1.1ghz quad core, adreno 305, 2gb ram one touch, and 1.2ghz quad core, adreno 306, 1.3gb ram kyocera), it keeps micro-stuttering while browsing chrome and doing basic actions with the UI, also when the battery is draining too(funny, sometimes while I have the charger plugged in and do basic activies such as chrome, youtube, read books, mess with menu settings the battery actually charges instead of deplete, but sometimes, seemingly always now, it depletes just as fast as though it was unplugged).

Anyways I have decided to try and customize the device with the plethora of information on here and all over the web for this device(after doing a lot more "research" of course and laying everything out for myself step by step to try to minimize failure.

First question is how much of a chance is there to brick the device installing TWRP alone? Really want to get that on there before doing anything, then install SuperSU from there with zip flash. And does it matter if I use a .tar or .img version of TWRP to flash with odin? The latest version of TWRP is in .img format and the tutorials I read say to use a .tar.

After that witch should I do try first, custom rom or custom kernel? What custom rom would be best at this point in time(5/13/2016) for this device, 100% compatible and fully tested. Also a kernel(unless overclocking can be unlocked within the custom rom, in witch case less chance of me ****ing up yet another android device).

One last thing, I really hope that even I am successful in doing all of this without ****ing up the phone that it does not turn out to be a fruitless effort, how much performance gains can I expect from all of this, custom rom, debloat after root, set sd as default storage after root(package does not belong to 2000 afterall), and then maybe a slight overclock on the cpu and gpu.

And thats all assuming that one day after getting all of this to work that one day I don’t wake up and for no apparent reason boot up the phone and find its bootlooped or something without ever changing anything once all of this is done, I mean if I get the thing working as I would like it to work theres no more reason for me **** with it is there? Also I guess no reason to even have the thing if it aint gonna function how I need it to function right?

Thanks for the help though anyways, if anybody even decides to help me this time in a manner that they are not just "helping" just because the end result ****s me over.

Thanks again.

Update to Marshmallow not working (maybe because i’ve got TWRP installed)

Hi,

I’ve previously rooted my tablet and recently unrooted and factory reset. I was excited to see that Sony are finally pushing out a Marshmallow update and tried to do the update, but when the tablet resets during the update installation it keeps just going to TWRP recovery page.

So – I have a feeling the tablet wants to get to its stock recovery as part of the install, but I don’t know how to revert from TWRP back to whatever the Xperia z2 tablet stock recovery is… I guess I don’t have any idea whether that’s even the problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

Can’t enter TWRP screen

Hello All.

I have TWRP installed on my Nexus 5 D820 device.
But averytime I try to boot into the recovery mode, I am getting the stock android recovery instead.
My device is rooted of course, my android version is 6.0.1.

How can I go to the TWRP screen?

Thank you!

How to reset phone after installing TWRP?

My P9 no longer boots after I tried to edit /data/system/packages.xml to enable SD card writing :( It boots up but it doesn’t let me unlock the phone. logcat shows lots of "java.lang.SecurityException: Permission Denial" so I assume I made an error when editing the file. Grr.

I have rooted it and installed TWRP. I can still boot into TWRP and also the Huawei erecovery. What is the best way to reset the phone? My understanding is that TWRP can’t read /data so I assume that it can’t wipe it. Is that correct? If I do the erecovery and download an image over Wi-Fi, will that break anything?

TWRP and Encryption password for data.

Hello there! thanks for your time.

I swear that I tried everything.

I received my HTC 10 like 1 almost 2 weeks ago.

I unlocked the bootloader, flashed the recovery, supersu, everything just fine. Everything works. Except that when I boot into the recovery TWRP ask for the password to decrypt /data. I put my pin = password failed. I tried to resetting the pin, tried putting a password, leaving it blank (tested default_password too) but I cant make TWRP work mounting /data. It always says that password is incorrect.

I even tried factory reset 2 times.

the version is: 3.0.2-2

Any ideas?

Thanks again guys! have a great day!
