TWRP 3.0.2-0 for XZDualRecovery

First of all – This is the work of master @shoey63 who build this from Omnirom tree and made several very usefull changes!
Visit his original post for more details and give him a thanks as well!

All what I did is modifing partition layout to backup TA and LTALabel partitions also.
Furthermore I did some tests for Z3C on LP and made this installer.

Whats needed
Z3C with XZDualRecovery installed (tested with Z3C-lockeddualrecovery2.8.26-RELEASE.combined)

Installation
Flash ZIP via recovery – What a surprise… 😉

Thanks to
@shoey63
@[NUT]
and for sure thanks goes to TeamWin for developing TWRP

Hey guys,

Today I rooted my S7 Edge and flashed TWRP including dm-verity and force encryption disabler by following this thread.

But I cannot backup or do Advanced Wipe because of below error messages which I presume because Samsung have encrypted the data partition? Any idea how can I fix this?

Use opengapps pico.
Let me know if this flashes from cm11 recovery, and/or omni 5.1 recovery.
Use https://github.com/yoinx/kernel_adiu…pp-release.apk for control of kernel. set cpu min to 200mhz, max 1400mhz, disable animations and all the live display and ambient display crap. then it should run smooth.
Use this supersu https://mega.nz/#!H5AEyI6Z!2FFd91__n…uQhHHLiEGr2LK4
Here is the rom, https://mega.nz/#!xcg0nZzZ!_zTmgEC4S…GgBPjgLgXGLrD8
cache and system on ext4, data on f2fs. f2fs is buggy for cache.
thanks to everyone that was thanked in the omni 5.1 thread. source is on xc racer’s github.
Hacks:
The zip is debloated.
This patch is applied http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/12…ommon_build.mk
My fascinatemtd and aries-common trees need to be used.
We have a special updater_script

With poweramp 703 alpha this is just a music player rom for my device.

TWRP downgrade works but strangely.

Okay, many of us don’t do this everyday but I flashed TWRP 3.0.2.0 on my OPO and needed to go back to 2.8.6.0 to use jgcaap’s MM build.

So i tried flashing 2.8.6.0 img file from 3.0.2 and guess what happened? No. It didn’t downgrade it self, instead I lost my recovery. My phone rebooted straight to system after being stuck on Bootlogo for a while. So I flash the recovery AGAIN via fastboot, flashify, RashR, Flashfire, Mobile Terminal whatever I could think of. But nope, same result whatsoever. Flashing other recoveries doesn’t work either. Same errors return.

Then I thought of flashing 3.0.0.0 instead of 2.8.6.0 and yes, flashing 3.0.0.0 from 3.0.2.0 worked indeed. Then I started to download all the recovery files till 2.8.6.0 and started flashing them one after another, step by step climbing down the number and it kept downgrading but ONE version down at a time, if I try to skip it returns the same bs as before. Then flashing down until I reached 2.8.6.0 and then flashed that too via RashR. And surprise! Surorise! The recovery version I needed was not working. It would be flashed then the recovery would disappear and it would go into a no recovery state like before again. Then I’d flash 2.8.6.1 and get recovery back. And now finally after all the endeavor I’m on 2.8.6.1.

Anybody might know the reason of this stupid anomaly? And why it doesn’t work?

And also why I can’t flash ANY OTHER recovery?

Partitioning SD card using TWRP 3.0.0.

$

Does anyone have a guide for partitioning an SD card using TWRP 3.0.0.? The only guides I have found are for older versions and the information is not relevant any more. There is no "Partition SD card" option under "Advanced"

I have already tried using the wipe and change file system (to ext4) functions but when I did that and booted my phone the SD card was not recognised and I had to re-format the card from system settings.

I’m using a Galaxy S4 I9505 on Android 5.0.1 (rooted).

Thanks in advance

TWRP flashable monthly Update.ZIP for Pixel C !

$

0

Here are some TWRP flashable Update.ZIP packages for Pixel C !

Just download the Update.zip onto your device and flash it via TWRP.
Fastboot is not required this way.

The latest monthly release:
Update.ZIP_Nexus_Ryu_MXC89F-system-vendor.zip

This update.zip contains system.img and vendor.img only.

The May 2016 Google Nexus update for Pixcel C has included a new "bootloader" as well.
The Update.ZIP will not update the bootloader, pls use fastboot to update the bootloader.

If you want to install antoher kernel, pls use the following packages below:

Latest stock kernel:
Update.ZIP_Nexus_Ryu_MXC89F-kernel_dragon.zip

Latest xceed kernel:
Update.ZIP_Nexus_Ryu_MXC14G-kernel_xceed.zip

Latest phhusson kernel:
Update.ZIP_Nexus_Ryu_MXC89F-kernel_su-nocrypt-r205.zip

Prerequisites: installed TWRP custom recovery
xceed version: http://forum.xda-developers.com/pixe…ragon-t3288243
NYCHitman1 version: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show…&postcount=101

Root access:
If you have rooted your device you will not loose your root access by installing system.img and vendor.img.
SuperSU will be installed "systemless" on Pixel C, all the SuperSU binaries are still there -> on /data partition.
If you install antoher kernel you may need to re-root your device.

The guide for installing TWRP and Rooting is located here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/pixe…ustom-t3307183

Download: https://onedrive.live.com/?authkey=%…9EB75F5DD9DA59
I will try to upload the Update.ZIP packages every month, as soon as possible. :)

Have Fun !

Problem with flashing CyanogenMod 13 builds through TWRP 2.8

$

I’m facing problem with flashing CyanogenMod 13 builds through TWRP 2.8 recovery when SD card is being used as internal storage, TWRP recovery is not able to locate SD card storage when SD card is being used as internal storage in CM 13, but I did change some settings I can’t remember and fortunately TWRP started showing SD card storage but I am not able to flash anything. However, I recently updated my TWRP recovery and installed version 3.0.1. I want to ask, can I now flash CyanogenMod 13 build through new version of TWRP recovery even when my SD card is being used as internal storage? If anyone did this please let me know.

Thanks in advance

[TOOL] Robin Toolkit (v1.0) – Root, TWRP, rescue device…

$

"I’m not responsible for any damage suffered by your device. You decide if you want to use my tool or not. Also you won’t be able to update via OTA."

Ok guys, so as I promised, as soon as I received my Robin I started to work on this to finish it, and after some days of working and testing, here you have a toolkit for the cute Robin:

Unlock/Lock the Robin (You should unlock your Robin the first time you use this tool. If not, as most of the tools below need the bootloader to be unlocked, you will lose your data when running any of them for the first time. In that case, creating a backup would be really unuseful. Unlock once, unlock forever)
Backup/Restore
Root
– Install TWRP
Wipe Cache/Data (with and without TWRP installed)
– Install factory images (System, Boot and/or recovery, up to you – Not the last version, I have to update it)
– Install non-forced-encryption patched boot by @d3xt3r (Thanks bud!) [Possibly adding the @deadman96385 version too in a near future!]

Root, Install TWRP and Backup/Restore work 100% sure. Other like install factory images or the non-encryption mod I haven’t tested them (I have zero time, literally), but they should work (95% sure).

Thanks also to @deadman96385, @d3xt3r, and @Baymax, who helped me testing and giving me their knowdledge!

Any suggestions and bug reporting are welcome!
